Jessie & Austin - May 2025

Jessie and Austin's wedding was full of springtime inspiration, with gorgeous flowers and a ceremony backdrop that looked like something out of a storybook. Their wedding perfectly captured the magic of an outdoor wedding at The Farmhouse.

How did you meet your significant other? How did they propose?

We first connected through a dating app and then our first date was at a bar in West Chester. We ended up talking for hours! During a trip to Thailand, Austin surprised me with a proposal on the beach at sunset (or maybe just slightly after because we were running late). With help from both of our friends, he had a romantic setup complete with a heart made of shells and our initials in the sand. I was completely surprised and thrilled. Austin got down on one knee and even hired a professional photographer to help capture the moment. It was such a magical night!

Why did you choose The Farmhouse for your wedding? What were some of your favorite things about the venue?

There are so many reasons we chose The Farmhouse for our wedding! First, it felt incredibly timeless, intimate, and romantic. We immediately fell in love with the outdoor ceremony space beneath the beautiful willow tree—it truly felt like a hidden, secret garden. We also loved how intimate the venue felt; one of our guests even told us, “It felt like we were all having a cozy dinner party.”

We also really appreciated how transparent The Farmhouse is with their pricing and how inclusive and easy they make the entire wedding planning process. Many of our guests told us how wonderful the staff was and how seamlessly they made the entire evening flow.

What was one of your favorite moments on your wedding day?

It’s so hard to pick just one moment because there were truly so many! The ceremony was especially meaningful because we were married by Austin’s cousin, who is also a close friend. He made the ceremony incredibly special, and it felt so personal. We also exchanged our own vows.

After our first kiss as husband and wife, we walked back down the aisle together to “I’m a Believer” from the Shrek soundtrack. Dancing down the aisle was so fun and was definitely a highlight. The entire ceremony felt like everything we had always hoped for and more.

What song did you choose for your first dance?

We chose a wedding dance cover of “Still Into You” by Paramore, sung by Isabella Kensington. We loved being able to dance to a pop-punk song we’ve always loved while finding a version that felt romantic and perfectly us.

What other special details did you include on your big day?

We included so many fun details throughout the day—cardboard cutouts of us for the photobooth, goofy props, and our childhood dogs wearing bowties as our cake toppers. We also displayed photos of both of our parents and grandparents on their wedding days as a way to honor them.

Your wedding meal is an important part of the day- what food stood out to you or your guests?

We absolutely loved the white truffle cheese and wild mushroom flatbread hors d’oeuvre—it was so good! So many of our guests told us how much they loved all of the food.

Since we’re both vegetarian, we chose the pasta primavera with white sauce as our wedding meal, and it was fantastic. Later in the night, the cutest cheeseburger sliders and fries were passed out as late-night snacks. We loved that they were served in to-go containers so guests could enjoy them then or save them for later. They also provided multiple veggie burger options so we—and our vegetarian and vegan guests—could enjoy them as well. We truly appreciated how accommodating they were with dietary restrictions.

What do you hope your guests remember most about your wedding day?

We hope they remember how much fun they had, especially on the dance floor. We felt so much love and happiness that day, and we hope our guests felt all of that too.

If you had one piece of advice for future couples, what would it be?

Our advice would be to stay as present as possible throughout your wedding weekend. It truly does go by fast, but the more you stay in the moment with your partner and family, the more it all seems to slow down. Being present helps you remember the small moments you’ll never want to forget.

Another big help with that is trusting your vendors so you don’t have to worry about the little details on your wedding day. By choosing The Farmhouse as your venue, you can be confident that everything will go smoothly—they truly take care of everything and remember all the details for you!
