Celebrate love, authenticity, and unforgettable memories as we look back on Julee and Courtney’s magical November wedding at The Farmhouse. From their heartfelt gazebo first look to a reception filled with personal touches, discover why this Delaware wedding venue was the perfect backdrop for their dream day.

How did you meet your significant other? How did they propose?
We met on Hinge actually. Our first date was in Philly at Beaumont Plateau and that’s where we ended up doing our engagement shoot, too! Courtney proposed to me in front of the Rockefeller Christmas tree in NYC two days before Christmas!!
Why did you choose The Farmhouse for your wedding?
We set up a tour for The Farmhouse before any other venue and we never saw any other venue. We fell in love with the venue immediately. The bar was a huge selling point as was the all inclusive pricing and the ceremony space. The character of the building was incredible.

What was one of your favorite moments on your wedding day?
One of my favorite moments was the first look at the gazebo. Court was crying, which I didn’t expect, and I was so happy to FINALLY show her my dress and see her suit!!
What song did you choose for your first dance? What other special details did you include on your big day?
Our first face was to Simply the Best by Billianne. We LOVE the show Schitt's Creek and that song is very important to the queer couple in the show. We thought it was a perfect song for us! Another detail that was very special to us was our memorial table. Between the 2 of us, we had lost 13 people in our lives. We wanted them to be honored as best as we could. My dad had past about 7 years prior to the wedding so I had on of his jackets and ties placed in the seat where he would have sat and that was very special to me, and Courtney.

Your wedding meal is part of the memory- what stood out to you and your guests?
One of the things my guests still talk about is the food, specifically the mini chicken and waffle skewers, and the main dishes. Court and I split one of each of the fish and chicken dishes and both were BEYOND delicious. We were also really happy to have wine service that we were able to add at the last minute.
What was the most "unique" thing about your wedding that guests are still talking about?
I think the “magic” Photo Booth was something that was very special. I had never seen a mirror photo booth before and I know everyone said how cool and unique that was. Plus everyone was able to get a physical copy of the photo they took and we liked that a lot!
The Farmhouse is such a unique place and was once a home! Was there a specific spot at The Farmhouse that became your favorite for photos or a quiet moment alone?
Yes, so many! I attached a few pictures of some of our fav spots!
What do you hope your guests remember most about your wedding day?
I hope that they remember the love. We are always told that people can see the love between us and that is one of my favorite things about us. But also that the food was amazing!
If you had one piece of advice for future couples, what would it be?
First, do an all inclusive package. I would NOT have survived the planning process if I hadn’t. Second, find a photographer that you LOVE. We are still in contact with ours and are planning to hang out in the future. Third, VET THE DJ. Use the recommended DJ/vendors from the venue. Our DJ was our only negative thing about our wedding.
(Editor's Note: We value honest feedback at The Farmhouse so we can keep our recommended vendor list updated and ensure you’re always connected with the very best for your big day.)
If you had to describe your wedding day in just three words, what would they be?
Magical. Delicious. Full of love.
If you could watch a 'deleted scene' from your wedding day- a moment that wasn't captured on camera- what would it be?
Hmm... maybe giving my new wife some chocolate covered strawberries. I surprised her with them because she surprised me with some on our first date. Little things like that during your wedding are so special because it’s just between the two of you.
