Jess and Tom had a beautiful ceremony followed by an unforgettable wedding reception! We were so excited to hear about their experience at The Farmhouse!
Why did you choose The Farmhouse for your wedding? What were some of your favorite things about the venue?
We chose The Farmhouse for our wedding because I instantly fell in love with the charm of the property. I absolutely loved the outdoor ceremony space as well as the hardwood floors and the high ceilings in the reception area. The space was exactly what we were looking for and it was an added bonus that there were so many features included.
How did you meet ?
Tom and I met on Hinge - yes online dating actually worked for us! We went on one date and the rest is history.Â
How did he propose?
Tom proposed at a local winery on October 24, 2020. I was totally surprised because I thought I had actually planned the outing, but it turns out that Tom and my best friend had it planned for months. We went to take a picture in front of the vineyards and when I went to pose, I turned to find Tom down on one knee. After he proposed I looked up and saw our entire family there to help us celebrate. It was one of the best days of my life.Â
What was one of your favorite moments on your wedding day?
There are so many moments from our wedding day that are my favorite so this is a tough one to answer! But, I think my favorite was when Tom and I had our first look. It was so special and I’ll remember it forever.Â
What song did you choose for your first dance?
Our first dance was to Simply the Best by Noah Reid. Yes, it’s the cover that Patrick sings for David in Schitt’s Creek (for those of you that are familiar). Tom actually picked this out, it’s one of our favorite shows to watch together and if you know the story line and the characters, the meaning behind it is even more sweet.Â
What other special touches did you include on your big day?
We added a lot of special touches throughout our wedding. We wanted to make sure our wedding was sentimental and represented us as a couple rather than what traditionally might be done at a wedding. My brother, Eddie, officiated our wedding and it made our ceremony so special for us. It’s a moment I’ll always cherish. We also had Tom dance with his Grand mom to an Elvis song, in tribute to his Grandfather (Elvis was his favorite). Some other things we incorporated were pictures of me and Tom throughout our years of dating, memorial pictures of our Grandparents on the fireplace, and custom drink stirrers of our fur babies that the bar tenders put in every drink.
