Tell us your love story! How did you two meet, and how did the proposal happen?

We met on Tinder in Spring 2016 and started dating in August 2016. Over the years we had a lot of life changing events that we went through together like career changes, going back to college, COVID, losing but also adopting pets, and renovating our current home. After 9 years together Anthony finally proposed September 13, 2026 on a hot air balloon ride (which was very scary... this probably wouldn't have been my top choice for proposal locations. But I'm still so thankful that he arranged such a special day). And less than a year later we are already enjoying life together as newlyweds and about to celebrate 10 years together!

Why did you choose The Farmhouse for your wedding?

We chose The Farmhouse because it was important for us to choose a venue that was as all inclusive as possible. We loved that catering was included at The Farmhouse and that they had so many rental packages for decor. We also wanted something very close to our home in Newark. We were sold once we saw the beautiful scenery in the ceremony space. It made for such beautiful photographs. I also feel like The Farmhouse was very fairly priced for what was included in the wedding package.

The moment after the ceremony is always so special. What was the very first thing you two said or did right after you walked back down the aisle together as newlyweds?

We stopped at the outdoor bar and ordered a drink with our wedding party! We all did one big cheers together before guests got a chance to make it to that section of the venue.

Music sets the mood! From the ceremony, to the first dance, announcements, or even the last song of the night- which song choice was the hardest to decide on?

Definitely what song I wanted to walk down the aisle to. I originally wanted "You Are In Love" by Taylor Swift. I was afraid it would make me cry too much so I chose "Daylight" by Taylor Swift instead. A few days before the wedding however I decided to heck with it and went back to my original choice but instead of the original version chose a violin/instrumental version. I'm so happy I followed my gut with my song choice.

What were some personal or fun details you incorporated into your big day?

We definitely wanted to make sure we incorporated our pets into our day so I made the bar signs featuring our pets myself on Canva and got a very talented seller on Etsy to make detailed figurines of our pets to put on our cake. We also aren't super big fans of vendor run photo booths but we did want our guests to be able to have a more interactive guest book to sign so I decided to dust off my old Instax camera and make our guest book a photo guest book. We love going through it - we got some really fun pictures and messages from the photo guest book.

Your wedding meal is part of the memory- what food or drinks stood out to you or your guests?

I LOVED the pasta primavera and the lemon and herb chicken. After our tasting I especially talked a really big game about the pasta primavera to all of our friends and family. It was delicious. Our guests also loved our pretzel wall that we got for late night snacks.

The Farmhouse is such a unique place and was once a home! Was there a specific spot at The Farmhouse that became your favorite for photos or a quiet moment alone?

We did so many portraits in front of the weeping willows. The weeks leading up to our wedding were so rainy and it really paid off with how green and vibrant all the background colors were. My one regret is that we forgot to get a picture on the porch. Maybe we will pop by sometime for an anniversary shoot. (We would love to have you back, haha!)

If you had one piece of advice for future couples, what would it be?

"Time is money." I understand not everyone will have a comfortable wedding budget to work with - but trying to DIY so many things will stress you out. Trust me. If you can, let others take care of some of the small details for you whether that is friends/family, sellers on Etsy, or vendors. Wedding planning should be fun - not stressful. It's all what you make it.

If you could rewatch a moment from your wedding day- that wasn't captured on camera- what would it be?

Guest arrivals - I, of course, had to hide away while guests arrived and it would have been so nice to see everyone's reactions as they saw the venue for the first time.
